Last night Mid Buckinghamshire and Buckingham and Bletchley Conservatives wished a very happy retirement to a real hero of our Conservative Party.
Evelyn Joy MBE has been our Agent for the old Buckingham constituency and now the new Mid Buckinghamshire and Buckingham & Bletchley seats since 1999 - with a history in our Party dating back to the mid 1980s.
As she retires I was honoured for everything she has done for our Conservative family over so many decades - not least for the support she has given me over two General Elections.
It was also a privilege to read a special message out from our new Leader:
“Dear Evelyn,
On behalf of the whole Conservative Party, I wanted to thank you for over forty years of service. You must be very proud of your achievements, both as Party Agent and winning three terms at District and County level, becoming the first female Town Mayor.
The Conservative Party is a family. You have given so much to us all and we are incredibly grateful.
I wish you a very long and happy retirement.
Warmest wishes
Kemi
The Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP
Leader of HM Loyal Opposition
Leader of the Conservative and Unionist Party”
Thank you Mrs Joy!
