In Questions to Ministers in the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero, Greg Smith MP once again called on the Government to ensure food security is given equal billing to energy security, ensuring national grid connections are good enough everywhere to ensure the solar revolution comes on commercial roof tops and not agricultural land so desperately needed to produce food.
Greg recently secured a change to the new National Planning and Policy Framework - out for consultation right now - that will see even greater protections for land used for food production in the planning system, but will keep pushing to ensure solar does not blight our agricultural land and beautiful countryside - when there are thousands of acres of rooftops that could be used instead.
