A new petition - which many local people have signed - has reached over 100,000 signatures in just a few days calling on a House of Commons debate to repeal the legislation from previous Parliaments that gave the go ahead to HS2.
Ordinarily, when a petition reaches 100,000 signatures that triggers a debate in the secondary debating chamber of the House of Commons known as Westminster Hall. But with Westminster Hall not currently sitting due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Greg has called on the Leader of the House of Commons to find time in the main House of Commons Chamber for this vital and important debate.
Greg said: "I will keep pursing this to ensure our voices are heard against this unwanted and ever costly, destructive and disruptive project."
