Following Greg Smith MP's speech in a debate on childcare last month, the Buckingham MP was grateful to David Johnston MP, Minister for Children, Families and Wellbeing for meeting him to discuss issues around childcare funding.
The Government's childcare offer is the right thing to do and will help thousands of Buckinghamshire families with children of pre-school age. But to get it right, the policy needs to ensure the costs of childcare places are covered and that it does not inadvertently put childcare settings out of pocket and ultimately out of business. Greg will continue working with the Minister to ensure this fantastic initiative to fund childcare places for children from 9 months old to school age, works properly.
