Last month the Government released more detail on the future of agricultural support in the UK, with the Environmental Land Management Scheme (ELMS) Prospectus and six new standards for the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI), and this week announced a new £168 million Farming Investment Fund. However, for long term certainty for our farmers, it is clear full details of these future schemes are needed - a point Greg Smith MP pushed the Farming Minister, Mark Spencer MP, on at this mornings DEFRA Question Time in the House of Commons.
