This afternoon the Transport Secretary set out steps being taken to improve Avanti services on the West Coast Mainline. Greg Smith MP used the opportunity to challenge him on the impact Avanti failures have had on displacing Birmingham to London passengers, who would ordinarily travel on Avanti, being displaced onto Chiltern services - in part creating the overcrowding many constituents (Greg included) have seen at key commuter times and at the weekend.
Greg is hosting a roundtable with Chiltern Railways next week in Parliament, please do email him examples of your frustrations with Chiltern so he can ensure they are raised with their senior management.
Greg is committed to holding Chiltern to account to ensure their services return to being as good and reliable as pre-pandemic.
