Following the Business Secretary’s statement on securing domestic energy security, Greg Smith MP challenged Grant Shapps to ensure energy security happens alongside food security not on top of it.
Commenting, Greg said, "Here in Buckinghamshire, as well as across the country we are seeing vast swathes of land that should be used for food production taken for solar farms whilst warehouse and factory owners can’t install rooftop solar panels as the grid connections are not good enough to take in the power. It is vital grid upgrades are prioritised so that roof top solar is a reality, not loss of agricultural land."
