The Government have announced that Police will be given powers to arrest protesters who wear face coverings to threaten others and avoid prosecution, and pyrotechnics will be banned at protests. Following his Statement Greg Smith MP asked the Security Minister to ensure the new measures are applied instantly upon an offence being seen by Police, given the outrageous way people carrying deeply unacceptable anti-semitic banners have not been challenged and arrested on the spot in recent months.
