During an Urgent Question on Capital Expenditure earlier today, Greg Smith MP felt the need to remind the House (particularly those on the Opposition benches seeming to want uncontrolled spending), just as Margaret Thatcher once reminded us, that there is no such thing as public money, only taxpayers' money - and that there should always be the most stringent checks and balances to ensure taxpayers' cash is spent wisely.
