In the House of Commons today Greg challenged the Rail Minister to enable greater Network Rail timetabling flexibility for Chiltern Railways, so that they are able to improve services.
Commenting, Greg said, "There are many issues facing rail at the moment—not least of all militant strike action—but Chiltern tell me that Network Rail's timetabling rigidity is one of the reasons we are suffering short trains, delays and some cancellations.
"Peak hours trains on Chiltern are far too overcrowded, and I will continue to work with Chiltern and the Government to enable improvements."
