At Justice Questions this morning, Greg Smith MP stressed the urgency of reform of certain elements of human rights legislation, in order to ensure those who seek to abuse our immigration and asylum system are no longer able to use the loopholes and provisions of the Human Rights Act.
A new British Bill of Rights must be adopted alongside the Nationality & Borders Bill as soon as possible to ensure that we can be welcoming to those in genuine need — such as refugees from Ukraine and Afghanistan — whilst having the ability to ensure that those who come here illegally and with false claims are able to be removed as quickly as possible.
