Greg Smith MP took part in a House of Commons question session on scrutiny of continuity trade deals this week. Greg focused on the recent announcement that the Trade and Agriculture Commission is to be put on a statutory footing, therefore ensuring farmers and the wider agricultural sector will be heard as part of the ongoing process of ensuring trade deals the UK is currently party to as part of the European Union are rolled over into bilateral arrangements at the end of the transition period as well as new trade deals.
The Minister of State for International Trade, the Rt Hon Greg Hands MP, referenced in his response an upcoming virtual meeting that Greg Smith MP has arranged for Buckingham Constituency farmers to put questions on trade directly to the Minister, which will be taking place on Thursday 26th November 2020. Invitations to local farmers to take part in this online event have been sent via the NFU, but if any local farmer has not received an invitation please email [email protected].
