The Government have released local government finance settlements today. The devil is in the details, but it looks like Buckinghamshire council will take a multi-million pound hit. Following a question from Joy Morrissey, the Minister tried to claim only areas with deprivation would benefit, alluding to Bucks not needing extra money.
I challenged him on this, demanding rural communities are not left behind. His answer went off on a weird tangent talking about a grant I had not even mentioned. I will continue to work with our local Council and push the Government to treat Bucks fairly - but so far it looks like Labour are letting us down.
