Today I challenged the Minister for Business and Trade on the Government’s hypocrisy towards investment in the Chinese EV market from the front bench of the Shadow Business and Trade Department.
Back in May, the Chancellor warned against the reliance on Chinese EVs which would undercut British workers. Now the Government are in favour of inward Chinese investment. This government is confused on its own position towards the global EV market.
We should follow the examples of the US, Canada, and the EU in acting on Chinese EV market dominance—no more dithering.
