The Labour Government have broken their promises to British steelworkers in favour of decarbonisation, resulting in de-industrialisation as we drive for green steel across this country, at the sacrifice of thousands of jobs.
In my role as Shadow Minister, I challenged Sarah Jones, the Minister of State, on British Steel plans to stop coking coal imports, when the Government knew, and about commitments to electric arc furnaces in Scunthorpe.
Also raising the point of potential Chinese imports and meetings with stakeholders on the impact on UK steelworks.
