In Prime Minister's Questions today (25th November 2020) Greg Smith MP asked Boris Johnson to commit to seriously beefing up the way flood risk is assessed and treated as part of the planning process. His question highlighted the case of residents in Ickford, who were told by developers flooding in the village would be a once in a 100 year eventuality, yet people in Ickford have suffered flooding three times this year already. It is vital flood risk is taken seriously and land is not developed where it will exacerbate or cause flood risk.
