A university campus without free speech is no university at all. These are the places where debate is meant to happen: ideas promoted and challenged; thoughts explored and probed. Greg Smith MP is delighted that our local university— The University of Buckingham - has twice topped the charts in the online magazine 'Spiked' for the university with least restrictions on free speech.
Under the outstanding leadership of its Vice Chancellor, James Tooley, Buckingham is once more leading the way on this vital issue with proposals for even greater protections of academic freedoms. Greg put this to the Minister of State during Education Question Time in the House of Commons Chamber.
