Today (10th March 2022), the Home Secretary has announced a new streamlined approach for Ukrainians to come to the UK, which will be in operation from next Tuesday.
Refugees won't need to go to a visa application centre. Instead they will be able to apply digitally, and submit their biometric data when they get to the UK.
Commenting, Greg said, "The Home Secretary has, repeatedly, made herself available to the House in light of the rapidly changing circumstances in Ukraine, and kept MPs informed of these vital improvements to the visa system.
"I sought assurances that basic security checks will remain in place, and that we have now reached the optimum point in the balance of protecting the security of the UK and stripping away any unnecessary bureaucracy for Ukrainians fleeing Russian persecution.
"The Home Secretary made it clear that the Government is determined to combine our security interests with a generous approach, which I wholly support."
