Greg Smith MP is calling on Lloyds Bank to reconsider urgently their decision to close the Buckingham branch of the bank.
Greg said: "The Lloyds Bank decision to close the last bank in the town of Buckingham is deeply disappointing and I urge them to reconsider.
"I get it that most of us go online and don't use branches any more. But many individuals, businesses, charities and community groups still DO rely on branches and Lloyds are deeply irresponsible to be closing this one.
"I'll be contacting Lloyds to see if we can negotiate a u-turn on this, but given the previous attitudes of Barclays and TSB across Buckingham, Winslow and Princes Risborough over the past couple of years, fear I know what their attitude will be.
"I will also be working with UK Finance to see if we can set up a banking hub in the town to at least salvage some cash and banking services."
