This week the Government announced a green paper to consult on a stronger national system for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)—ending the postcode lottery of uncertainty and accountability as we level up opportunities. Every child, regardless of their background, should be able to access the education they need and deserve. This consultation includes setting new national standards; simplifying the Education, Health and Care Plan; changing the culture and practice of mainstream education; and improving workforce training for staff in educational settings. Following a Statement on this in the House of Commons, Greg highlighted the need to ensure excellent facilities—like the Circle Centre in Middle Claydon—are included in the consultation.
