Greg Smith MP was delighted to formally start proceedings at the Kop Hill Climb in Princes Risborough today, as well as volunteering at the event to raise funds for local charities.
Commenting Greg said, "A fFantastic day at Kop Hill Climb in Princes Risborough. An honour and privilege to wave the starting flag to start the day.
"Joined by Princes Risborough Mayor Andy Ball and Buckinghamshire Councillor for the Risboroughs Ward Cllr Matthew Walsh, I then spent a couple of hours volunteering, selling event programmes with all the money going to the Kop Hill Climb Fund which is administered by Heart of Bucks, that awards grants to a wonderful array of Buckinghamshire charities.
"The afternoon brought a real treat as I was driven up the hill in the flag car - a BMC Works Rally Mini that competed in the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally - which was driven in memory of Kop Hill Climb Patron Paddy Hopkirk MBE who sadly passed away in July.
"During the event, was also delighted to catch up with Association of Heritage Engineers who were exhibiting at the show, who I have been working closely with over the past couple of years in my capacity as Co-Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Motorsport and a member of the Transport Select Committee.
"Some top class food from Orchard View Farm's stall too!
"Thank you to the whole team who make this incredible event happen, the organisers, volunteers, the orange army of marshals and everyone who brought a vehicle to bring the magic of motorsport to the streets of Princes Risborough for all to enjoy."
