It is vital and urgent that the people smugglers who are risking lives in the English Channel with small boat crossings and all illegal immigration into the United Kingdom is stopped, likewise the use of hotels as asylum hostels. So this afternoon during an Urgent Question to the Home Office, Greg Smith MP pressed the Immigration Minister to assure him that, whilst further legislation may well be necessary, the Home Office is using all the powers vested to it by the Nationality and Borders Act last year.
