This evening Greg Smith MP spoke in the second reading debate of the Energy Bill.
A wide ranging bill, Greg welcomed the commitment to nuclear energy, whilst also challenging the government on ensuring community energy schemes can sell the power they generate locally; that rural off gas grid homes are not forced to go down the heat pump route to decarbonise but other options are available, like HVO; and embrace synthetic fuels for transport and domestic use.
