Greg Smith MP was delighted to speak at the first National Rural Crime Unit Conference at the National Farmers Union (NFU) HQ at Stoneleigh Park, attended by rural crime leads from police forces across the country.
Greg updated attendees on his private members bill which brings forward measures to prevent the theft of agricultural equipment (and more), principally via forensic marking.
Greg said, "Huge thank you to the NPCC lead on rural crime, Superintendent Andrew Huddleston, for his superb leadership on combating rural crime. It was uplifting to see so many forces now giving a greater focus to rural crime. Am incredibly proud of our own TVP Rural Crime Taskforce under Inspector Stuart Hutchins for leading the way. Thanks also to NFU Vice President David Exwood for hosting us and putting the NFUs weight behind this important work, alongside all at NFU Mutual."
