Greg Smith MP continues to raise overcrowding at peak times and weekends on Chiltern Railways.
A big part of the problem is Chilterns aging fleet, so Greg was pleased to welcome senior leadership from Chiltern to Parliament last week to hear about their plan for fleet renewal, where they unveiled their ‘Right Route’ to 2030 vision. This proposal sets out how Chiltern will deliver easier, greener, and better rail services through spending on new trains over the next decade.
Greg said, "I will continue to push Chiltern Railways for more urgent steps to be taken to add in capacity and relieve overcrowding, such as better use of all of their Class 68 loco-hauled trains, but fundamentally this new plan is a step in the right direction for the long term."
