This morning Greg Smith MP was delighted to visit St. Scholastica's Retreat almshouses in Princes Risborough this morning, meeting with Warden Gordon Nunn. A wonderful, warm and welcoming collection of 36 homes, providing housing for Roman Catholics of limited means who are aged 60 years or over.
With a number of almshouses across the constituency, Greg is supporting a wider campaign to get almshouses formally recognised as affordable housing in the National Planning and Policy Framework (NPPF) as well as to be recognised under the new Community Infrastructure Levy in the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill. Greg wrote to the Housing Minister about this last month and will keep up the pressure.
