With such horrendous failures from Avanti on the West Coast Mainline in recent times, consumers have voted with their feet and turned to other rail operators - specifically adding to overcrowding on Chiltern Line services from Birmingham to London, that stop at Buckinghamshire stations. With news that the Government has issued a new contract to Avanti, Greg Smith MP challenged Transport Minister Jesse Norman on how the contract will win customers back to Avanti on those routes to relieve pressure on Chiltern Railways services from Bucks stations like Haddenham and Thame Parkway and Princes Risborough.
