At Treasury Questions earlier, Greg Smith MP challenged the Chancellor to be mindful of food inflation getting worse if our self sufficiency in food production drops - asking him to use fiscal measures to discourage the transfer of food producing land to other uses such as solar.
Commenting, Greg said, "We are under siege from solar proposals here in Buckinghamshire and I am determined to find every means possible to protect our farmland as food producing land."
