The judgement from the Supreme Court on the Governments plans to tackle illegal immigration and the evil trade of people smuggling in the English Channel, was deeply disappointing. But it is vital the Government does deliver on its commitment to stop the boats and end illegal immigration. Both the Prime Minister and Home Secretary have confirmed the government is committed to resolving the legal issues thrown up by the Supreme Court judgment and Greg Smith MP questioned the new Home Secretary in the House of Commons earlier calling for maximum speed to get any new measures required passed into law.
