A tax cut for 27 million workers via a 2% reduction in National Insurance, business tax cuts to incentivise growth, supporting pensioners by honouring the triple lock and a welcome continued lifeline for pubs and brewers, the Autumn Statement was a fantastic start in reducing the tax burden as we recover from the economic damage of the pandemic and energy shock from Putins invasion of Ukraine.
Greg Smith MP particularly welcomed the tax cuts for the self-employed who play such an important part in our economy - indeed some 11,500 people are registered as self-employed in the Buckingham constituency and called on the Chancellor to send out the signal that we need more people starting an enterprise, helping the economy grow.
