The new Labour government has already ignored rural communities elsewhere, consenting 6,000 acres of solar installations against local wishes. I continue to oppose the loss of agricultural land to solar, not least opposing Rosefield in the Claydons and other local schemes. So I asked the Energy Secretary this afternoon what precisely he is going to do to bring about community consent. A disappointing answer that shows his clear ideological commitment to trashing our farmland.
The fight goes on.
