The financial attack on farmers in the Budget of broken promises was one of the most outrageous and dangerous decisions the Chancellor took.
I asked the Leader of the House if she could ensure the DEFRA Secretary or Farming Minister would be speaking for the Government in the remaining days of debate on the Budget so their plans could be fully explored and challenged. She refused.
They’re either embarrassed or scared or both - I will not give up on this and will always stand up for our farmers.
