The Budget was a nightmare for farmers, from the changes to Agricultural Property Relief that will force family farms to sell up to pay the tax bill; to making basic equipment like pick up trucks more expensive; to increasing the cost of fertiliser via their Carbon Tax.
I challenged the Farming Minister on the latter point earlier, asking who will bear the brunt of this - the farmer (already on low margins, if any) or the consumer through higher food prices.
