Winter pressures on our NHS come about every year - but this year we have the added challenge of Labour’s political choice to take away the winter fuel payment from millions of pensioners. Cold and damp homes lead to illness and hospital admissions, which is even worse for the 44,000 pensioners with a terminal illness that are losing the winter fuel payment.
So I asked the Minister what her assessment of the impact this policy will have on the NHS this winter. She completely failed to answer the question trying to pretend winter pressures only happen under the Conservatives - I think we all remember the many winter crises under the last Labour government!
